Bikecheck: Alexandre Paradis' Partymaster

Bikecheck: Alexandre Paradis' Partymaster

If you’ve been following our crew long enough, there is no doubt that you remember Parapa from a whole lot of our Unexpected Thursday videos. In the last couple years, he took some time off the freestyle bike but his skills never left him. In fact, he’s the type of dude that will borrow some random bike on the way out the bar just to see if he still got them bunnyhop tailwhips on lock, and land it first try. As of last year, he’s been slowly riding the freestyle bike more and he decided to kick off 2019 with a brand new Partymaster. Words can’t express how stoked we are to see him shredding with the crew again, and we can’t wait to see how he puts his new whip to use! Peep all the details about his new setup below along with some words from the Jackhammer himself.

“For the last couple of years now, I’ve been riding mostly my downhill bike. I’ve kind of lost confidence in my riding since I wasn’t really riding that much and had a couple injuries in a short amount of time. I had the idea of building a partymaster since it came out and after riding it for the last three months, the only thing I regret is not getting it sooner. Confidence came back quickly and I even started trying new tricks. The bike simply feels perfect whether I’m riding park or dirt jumps. I’m so stoked on this build and can’t wait to shred more sessions with the boys!”

Video: Double Trouble Dirt Jump Jam

Video: Double Trouble Dirt Jump Jam

In case you didn't make it to Mont-Tremblant 2 weekends ago, you missed a pretty cool event; our Double Trouble Dirt Jump Jam. To make it brief, we were given the opportunity to build jumps and hold a demo during Mont-Tremblant's Canada Cup, and in a true The Rise fashion, it turned out dope as f*ck! While the weekend was mainly focused around XC, DH and Enduro races, the whole mountain biking community was extremely supportive towards Dirt Jumping, and it was beautiful to see. After all, it's hard not to have a good time when jumping bikes with the homies, especially with a great crowd like that! Peep the video video of the event, and mark your calendars for next year's Double Trouble! Cover Photo by Myriam Laroche Video by Jeremy Menduni

Ivan Popov in Budapest

Ivan Popov in Budapest

VVC Force connect Ivan Popov is still at it and shows no sign of fear. He headed to Budapest and met up with Laszlo Kopacz to produce this video. According to Ivan's description, this was a totally normal biking trip:
This was a totally gypsy style-trip , without money, without normal accomodation but with lots of friends, lots of good time and lots of motivation.
Watch him as he goes for some of the hardest tricks in the game and surprisingly pulls most of them!

Unexpected Thursday 44: Arsou to Church!

Unexpected Thursday 44: Arsou to Church!

The Montreal winters can get harsh on one's motivation to ride his bike. Ironically, the crew escaped even more North to ride something new and have a good time. There is no better place to ride in Saguenay than a Church with freshly renovated ramps inside! Shoutout to all the homies in Saguenay for keeping it badass everytime and making every trip unforgettable!

Bikecheck: Jeremy Menduni's Partymaster

Bikecheck: Jeremy Menduni's Partymaster

New Year means New Bike for Jeremy Menduni! He somehow managed to get an even cleaner Partymaster than his previous one and he now runs a Prototype Rigid Fork from Altruiste! Wait no longer and see what he has to say about his new build, then check out a full bikecheck below!

"My bike last year was the cleanest build I'd had to date which meant that it would be really hard to top it this year but somehow I think I did it! One of the hardest things was finding the right colour. After switching between a few different samples, I finally decided on this colour and I'm blown away how well it turned out. I'm running a BMX spaced Partymaster combined with my new signature Altruiste Six One Three fork and I decided to run a sprocket guard to hopefully learn some new grinds and not have to worry about my drivetrain too much. My new Ruff Bike Co Can Rims with Resist Nomad tires makes my bike look even more street and thats all that matters right?! haha! All kidding aside, after a solid weekend of riding my new bike at Joyride 150, I'm beyond stoked on how dialled this thing turned out and it's gotten me so excited for the outdoor sessions and good times with the homies. Huge thanks to The Rise, Altruiste Bikes, Resist, Ruff Bike Co and all the guys at Joe Mamma Cycles in Ottawa for helping me put this thing together. Truly feeling blessed!"

Bikecheck: Xavier "Chabz" Cloutier's Partymaster

Bikecheck: Xavier "Chabz" Cloutier's Partymaster

Today, we`re stoked to bring you the Bikecheck of a true MTB Street pioneer; Xavier "Chabz" Cloutier. His name might not ring a bell to the younger generation, but Chabz is one of the OGs we started riding street with back in 2005. He took some time off the Freestyle scene for a while because of studies, injuries and also to focus on his own Handmade Frames Company; Cycles Narval. Despite not riding his Street bike much during the past few years, Chabz stayed heavily involved in Montreal's Cycling scene by building handmade steel frames and organizing various Fixed Gear races and events. He recently built up a new Partymaster and the thing is looking damn fresh! Keep on reading for all the specs and more pictures of his build!
